LVF is run by a team of dedicated volunteers who together make up the Stewardship Committee, with professional backgrounds spanning private practice, chambers, in-house and the public sector.

Meet the Stewardship Committee

Dominika Leitane

Co-Chair

Dominika is a Legal Officer at Opportunity Green, a climate NGO seeking innovative solutions to decarbonisation. Dominika’s work spans national, European and international law, with a focus on developing legal strategies to decarbonise the international shipping sector. Later this year, Dominika will commence pupillage at 4-5 Gray’s Inn Square. She previously worked in public law at a B-Corp law firm, held legal research and casework positions at various NGOs, and completed a traineeship at the European Court of Human Rights. Where possible, she combines her love for travelling with outdoor activities like skiing, surfing or hiking.

Marina Soares Ingles

Co-Chair

Marina is a Solicitor at Kennedys where she focuses on insurance and commercial disputes in the energy sector. She has been actively involved in environmental initiatives since 2017 including the Environmental Law Foundation, Surfers against Sewage, and The Chancery Lane Project. She loves being by the sea and playing Padel.

Carol Yuen

Vice Chair

Carol is an environmental law researcher currently studying an LLM in Environmental Law and Policy at University College London, while working with Grantham LSE to maintain the Climate Change Laws of the World database. She is also volunteering in an environmental research clinic on law, finance and systems change with ClientEarth. Carol’s research interests lie in transforming the financial system and commercial entities to achieve climate transition. Before, Carol worked in public interest and general litigation in Singapore and as a researcher at the Asia-Pacific Centre for Environmental Law at the National University of Singapore. Carol has been following the COP processes and most recently represented the Singapore youth delegation at COP29.

Lucia Williams

Stewardship Committee

Lucia is a doctoral student at University College London (UCL), specialising in sustainability and insurance law, and a Consultant in the Environmental Sustainability & Biodiversity team at global law firm Clyde & Co LLP, where she has practiced as a solicitor advising on climate liability risks and handling international arbitrations involving mass torts and environmental damage. Lucia has supported, pro bono, numerous initiatives and charities including Wildlife & Countryside Link, Legal Response International and The Chancery Lane Project. When not at her desk, Lucia can be found running in a nearby park, reading a book, doing yoga or visiting family and friends in Italy, France or Scotland.

Olivia Lunn

Stewardship Committee

Olivia is a Legal and Financial Researcher at the Polluter Pays Project, an organisation that seeks to hold polluters accountable for decommissioning costs. Prior to joining the PPP, Olivia was an energy disputes associate at K&L Gates. Olivia is completing an LLM in Environmental Law and Policy at UCL and participated in ClientEarth’s Law, Finance and Systems Change Clinic. Olivia has worked with community groups as a pro bono advisor at the Environmental Law Foundation and other legal clinics. Her latest hobby is basket weaving and she loves being surrounded by green.

Caroline Borowski

Stewardship Committee

Caroline recently completed the LLM in Environmental Law and Policy at UCL, with a dissertation that focussed on the constitutionalisation (arguably) of environmental rights through rights-based strategic climate litigation as well as pro bono work in ClientEarth’s Law, Finance and Systems Change research clinic. She is currently based in Brussels where she is pursuing her interest in marine policy at the intersection of law and science, and excited to continue thinking about ways to make the law work for the environment with LVF. Away from her desk, she can likely be found looking for watery depths to dive and coastal paths to hike 🌊

Emily Bradeen

Stewardship Committee

Emily is a Policy Analyst on the climate law and governance team at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, LSE. She supports the team’s legislation and litigation work streams, and coordinates the Climate Change Laws of the World database—the world’s most comprehensive global resource on climate legislation and policy. Prior to the Grantham Institute, Emily worked for the in-house counsel at a multimedia company in Montreal. Emily enjoys hiking and spending as much time as she can on the St Lawrence river, where she loves to kayak with the local seals.

Martina Menegat

Stewardship Committee

Martina is a Policy Fellow at the LSE Centre for Economic Transition Expertise (CETEx), where her work focuses on financial regulation, central banking, and climate change. She is also a PhD researcher in Law and Finance at the University of Glasgow. Previously, she worked in the Legal Services of the European Central Bank, supporting the Secretariat of the Network for Greening the Financial System’s Experts’ Network on Legal Issues (NGFS), with a particular focus on climate litigation and its implications for the financial system. Martina enjoys creative writing, cinema, spending time in nature, and travelling to the most distant place she can reach by train.

Ben Potgieter

Stewardship Committee

Ben is Junior Legal Counsel at the Global Innovation Fund, where he advises on a wide range of impact investment transactions across the Global South, as well as governance matters at the organisation. He is interested in how the law can enable positive social and environmental impact. Outside of work you’ll likely find Ben playing pick up at an outdoor basketball court or open water swimming at the West Reservoir, his favourite place in London.

Melinda Szekeres

Stewardship Committee

Melinda is a solicitor in Eversheds Sutherland’s Global Energy Group, where she focuses on commercial transactions and regulatory matters within the clean energy sector. She also has experience in climate and environmental pro bono work, including supporting UNFCCC negotiations through Legal Response International. Before beginning her legal career, she worked at a foundation evaluating environmental and social justice grant‑making and impact investing opportunities, and also pursued an entrepreneurship fellowship programme. Outside of work, Melinda enjoys live music, art workshops, and spending time in nature.

Anna Tranter

Stewardship Committee

Anna is a solicitor in Irwin Mitchell’s Planning & Environment team, where she advises on a broad range of contentious, advisory, and transactional matters across the environmental and planning sectors. She has experience supporting environmental and human rights NGOs on a pro bono basis, drawing on her previous work in the charity sector on campaigns, fundraising, and strategic litigation projects. Anna holds an LLM in Environmental Law and Policy, during which her research focused on regulation of the water sector in England – motivated by her (fair weather) interest in wild swimming.
