
LVF is run by a team of dedicated volunteers who together make up the Stewardship Committee, with professional backgrounds spanning private practice, chambers, in-house and the public sector.
Meet the Stewardship Committee

Emma Short
Co-Chair
Emma is an Associate in the Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure team at A&O Shearman. During her training, Emma worked with carbon markets, sustainability-linked financial products, renewable energy projects and ESG regulation. She is passionate about climate finance (see her knowledge session on this from April 2024!) and specialises in the financing of green projects, particularly involving hard-to-abate sectors.

Harriet Hall
Co-Chair
Harriet is an Environmental Lawyer at the Government Legal Department, advising the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs on circular economy and environmental quality. Before this, she was an Associate in the Real Estate Planning and Environment team at Herbert Smith Freehills LLP, where she trained. Prior to her career in law, Harriet studied Geography and worked for the British Antarctic Survey. In her spare time Harriet enjoys being out in nature – whether that’s running, dog walking, wild swimming or trying to grow things on her balcony!

Dominika Leitane
Vice Chair
Dominika is a Legal Officer at Opportunity Green, where she seeks innovative pathways to reducing emissions through strategic legal action. She previously worked in public law at a B-Corp law firm, held legal research and casework positions at various NGOs, and completed a traineeship at the European Court of Human Rights. Dominika has a strong case of wanderlust, having visited over 50 countries. Where possible, she combines her love for travelling with outdoor activities like skiing, surfing or hiking.

Catríona Campbell
Stewardship Committee
Catríona is an Associate in the Regulatory & Investigations team at Clyde & Co, as part of which she advises clients on climate risk, sanctions and cyber risk. She recently completed an LLM in Environmental Law and Policy at UCL, where she was involved in various environmental pro bono projects and worked as a Research Assistant to Dr Franziska Arnold Dwyer, researching (re)insurance and sustainability issues. Her happy place is in Donegal, Ireland, and she absolutely loves being in the sea or up a mountain (see picture!).

Marina Soares Ingles
Stewardship Committee
Marina is a Solicitor at Kennedys where she focuses on insurance and commercial disputes in the energy sector. She has been actively involved in environmental initiatives since 2017 including the Environmental Law Foundation, Surfers against Sewage, and The Chancery Lane Project. She loves being by the sea and playing Padel.

Riley Forson
Stewardship Committee
Riley is an Associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution team at Macfarlanes LLP, where she has a particular interest in the growing area of ESG and climate litigation. Riley is passionate about ensuring awareness for biodiversity and ensuring wild animals remain wild. Riley is interested in the connections between biodiversity, climate change and human rights. She has a masters in International Human Rights Law and also studied Animal Law Jurisprudence. As a lover of biodiversity, Riley is a qualified scuba diver and enjoys being by (or in!) the sea or visiting animal sanctuaries in England and abroad, especially if they have rescued donkeys!

Yomna Elewa
Stewardship Committee
Yomna is a dual-qualified lawyer (England and Wales and Egypt).She is a counsel at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development with a background in renewable energy project finance and currently advising on a range of banking and investment transactions in the Western Balkans and the MENA region.

Hadrien Espiard
Stewardship Committee
Hadrien is an associate in Bird & Bird’s commercial energy team. His work focuses on cleantech and renewables, energy management, energy digitalisation and ESG. He also helps run the firm’s ESG Pulse blog and is a member of its ESG working group. Prior to Bird & Bird, Hadrien spent two consecutive summers working for the cleantech NGO AquaAction (formerly AquaHacking) organising hackathons. As part of LVF’s Stewardship Committee, he is keen to further develop LVF’s already strong sense of community and help meet people wherever they are in their ‘environmental’ journey. Hadrien is happiest halfway up a cliff.

Olivia Lunn
Stewardship Committee
Olivia is a Legal and Financial Researcher at the Polluter Pays Project, an organisation that seeks to hold polluters accountable for decommissioning costs. Prior to joining the PPP, Olivia was an energy disputes associate at K&L Gates. Olivia is completing an LLM in Environmental Law and Policy at UCL and participated in ClientEarth’s Law, Finance and Systems Change Clinic. Olivia has worked with community groups as a pro bono advisor at the Environmental Law Foundation and other legal clinics. Her latest hobby is basket weaving and she loves being surrounded by green.

Carol Yuen
Stewardship Committee
Carol is an environmental law researcher currently studying an LLM in Environmental Law and Policy at University College London, while working with Grantham LSE to maintain the Climate Change Laws of the World database. She is also volunteering in an environmental research clinic on law, finance and systems change with ClientEarth. Carol’s research interests lie in transforming the financial system and commercial entities to achieve climate transition. Before, Carol worked in public interest and general litigation in Singapore and as a researcher at the Asia-Pacific Centre for Environmental Law at the National University of Singapore. Carol has been following the COP processes and most recently represented the Singapore youth delegation at COP29.

Orla Heatley
Stewardship Committee
Orla holds an LLB in Law and Political Science from Trinity College Dublin and a Master of Laws from New York University. She currently works providing research assistance to various legal professionals and projects, and recently joined LVF’s Stewardship Committee too!
She has researched and advocated extensively in the arena of climate and environmental law, publishing and presenting proposals with the Climate Bar Association in Ireland and advocating for environmental rights with KCL’s Environmental Rights Recognition Project.

Verity Thomson
Stewardship Committee
Verity is an associate at Kennedy’s Law where her practice focuses on disputes in the maritime and energy sectors. She is also a member of Kennedy’s ESG Steering Group. Prior to joining Kennedy’s, Verity worked at another London-based law firm in their maritime team. Verity started her legal career at Canada’s Ship-source Oil Pollution Fund where she enforced the polluter pay principles. She has also work for Fisheries and Oceans Canada and Environment and Climate Change Canada. Verity loves spending as much time outside as possible and exploring new landscapes whether that be on foot, skis, sail boat, canoe, or in a tent.
