30 March 2025: SOIL Exhibition
LVF made an outing to the SOIL Exhibition at Somerset House in London, which explored the remarkable power and potential of soil.
LVF Stewardship Committee member Carol Yuen wrote a fascinating blog post about the exhibition, which you can read here.

10-11 May 2025: Wakelyns Farm
On 10-11 May 2025, a group of 30 LVF members travelled to Wakelyns Agroforestry in Suffolk, for our first LVF field trip, generously hosted by David Wolfe KC and Amanda Illing. Wakelyns is a pioneering 22.5 hectare farm that combines agroforestry, food, community, research and environmental stewardship. The Wakelyns model of sustainable farming gives a real insight into how farming can act as a solution and give back to people and planet.

7 September 2025: LVF’s Inaugural Book Club
For LVF’s inaugural book club in September, we explored books centred on insects, a group often overlooked despite their crucial role in maintaining ecosystems and their growing vulnerability to climate change (the list of books is here, and you can find details of our next book club on ‘Rivers’ here).
SC Member Catriona Campbell wrote a blog about our first meet up here.

7 October 2025: World of Wasps Exhibition
On 7 October we headed to a ‘late’ of this exhibition which featured talks by Professor Sumner and her team, and the chance to make some paper wasps to stick to a wasp nest created by an artist out of of paper. Professor Sumner’s talk was fascinating and she outlined seven key reasons we should love wasps, of which there are over 100,000 species.
SC Member Catriona Campbell wrote a blog about the exhibition here.
